Oversized T-Shirt Size Guide: What Size Should I Buy?

For the intended oversized look, order your usual size. For a closer, standard fit, size down one size. Always compare the pit-to-pit chest and length measurements with a t-shirt you already own.

Zentoku's model is 5'10" (178 cm) and wears size L for the signature oversized boxy fit. The measurements below come from the Zentoku oversized size chart, the same one shown on every product page. All measurements are in inches.

Zentoku oversized size chart

Size Chest (pit to pit) Length (shoulder to hem) Shoulder (seam to seam) Sleeve length
S 21" 28.5" 18.5" 8.5"
M 22" 29.5" 19.5" 9.5"
L 23" 30.5" 20.5" 10.0"
XL 24" 31.5" 21.5" 10.5"
XXL 25" 32.5" 22.5" 11.0"

Allow a measurement tolerance of 0.5 to 1 inch, because manufacturing and measuring both introduce small variations.

How to measure yourself against the chart

  1. Lay a t-shirt you like flat on a table.
  2. Measure from armpit seam to armpit seam for the chest (pit to pit).
  3. Measure from the top of the shoulder seam to the hem for the length.
  4. Compare both numbers with the chart. For an oversized fit, choose the size whose chest is a few inches wider than your reference tee.

Should I size down in an oversized t-shirt?

Size down one size if you want a regular fit, or if you are between sizes and prefer less drape. Stay true to size for the full oversized silhouette. The right choice depends on the look you want:

If you want Choose
The full oversized, boxy, drop-shoulder look Your usual size
A relaxed but closer, more standard fit One size down
Extra-baggy, streetwear-runway volume One size up
You are between two sizes The smaller size for less drape, the larger for more

If you are unsure, the size chart is the reliable tiebreaker: match the chest and length numbers to a tee you already like.

Why the fit stays the same after washing

Zentoku tees are cut from 240 GSM combed cotton that is pre-shrunk, so the size you order is the size you keep. Read more in Do heavyweight oversized t-shirts shrink? and see how the cut compares with other fits in Oversized vs boxy vs regular fit.
